Brett Eastburn wears many hats: As a motivational speaker, comedian, and, most recently, Twitch streamer, he certainly likes to keep busy. And when one considers that he was born without limbs, his day-to-day routine seems even more surprising.
Having lost a brother and two sisters to the 2005 Kashmir earthquake, Asim Khan’s family was fragmented from a young age. While some of his family did manage to survive the catastrophe, he still grew up with a yearning for what was gone.
Because free-running is not particularly profitable in Pakistan, Asim Khan has taken up a plethora of side gigs to support his family.
Prior to his discovery of parkour, Asim was entrenched in the worlds of taekwondo and kickboxing. While, at this point, fighting is more of a hobby for Asim than a lifestyle, he values all that he has learned from it.
On October 8, 2005, the catastrophic Kashmir earthquake struck Pakistan. Centered near the city of Muzaffarabad, it registered a magnitude of 7.6 and had a maximum Mercalli intensity of XI (Extreme).
Pakistan’s Asim Khan is a freerunner, teacher, fighter, and above all, a survivor. When he was only six years old, he survived the 2005 Kashmir earthquake, a natural disaster that killed over 80,000 people and left 4 million homeless.
In 2007, Chicago native Alex Levesque founded Automotive Mentoring Group (AMG). The nonprofit organization recruits gang members from across the city and teaches them the skills necessary to build careers as auto mechanics.
A film professor at New Mexico State University, Raj instills within his students more than just his knowledge of filmmaking: he is able to connect with them via his lived experiences. And Raj has a lot of those.
