A Los Angeles father was assailed by masked men in his driveway, watch how the tables are turned when the homeowner shoots at the intruders.
The incident took place in the affluent Mid-City neighborhood on a Saturday evening around 7:30 pm.
According to home surveillance footage, as the man parked his car in his driveway and searched for his keys, one of the robbers approached him from behind.
Startled, the homeowner recalled wearing earbuds, “which I never should have done,” and feeling someone running up behind him.
Then they “put a gun to me,” he recounted to ABC 7. Reacting incredibly quickly, the father, described as a white, middle-aged male, turned around, threw his hot tea at one suspect, and showed his attackers that they came to the wrong house when he pulled out his own gun.

In the chaotic moments that followed, shots were exchanged between the homeowner and the two intruders. While the assailants quickly dispersed, one fired back at the father.
Undeterred, the homeowner rained down bullets and pursued one of the suspects who fled over the side fence, while the other made his escape via the front gate.
Reflecting on the incident, the husband and father expressed his determination to protect his family.
“I guess they decided to try to come at me and come in the house but I have a five-month-old baby and a wife and a nanny in the house and that wasn’t going to happen,” he told Fox 11 Los Angeles.
“There was nothing in my house that was worth dying for. But I was willing to die for my family.”

He urged the culprits to reconsider their criminal path, believing their capture to be imminent, adding, “It’s a matter of time before these people get caught. I think they should just pick a new career before they do end up in jail.”
As of now, it remains uncertain whether the homeowner injured either of the intruders during the shootout.
However, he adamantly asserted that anyone who attempts to harm his family in the future will meet a similar fate.
“‘They’re going to die for trying to come in this house,” he stated.
