Bright future – Art for Inspiring Minds

Help create a bright future for the world.

by M. Cardinal

The Invitation

Mark Anderson is an illustrator. He also had the ability to help create a bright future for the world. He was invited to attend the yearly CUSP Conference where 25 people with different talents come together to discuss making the future bright. They each present their version of what the future holds for their expertise. Also, their hope for the future. His part is to create portraits of the participants. They are asked what keeps them up at night and gets them out of bed in the morning.

Mark talks to us about making a bright future at CUSP Conference. Great example of an everyday hero.

CUSP Conference helps create visions of a bright future

The goal is to come up with ideas through their innovations, to make the world a bright future. The Conference held at the Museum of Contemporary Art. They invite speakers that think out of the box. Mark was invited to listen to the speakers, then come up with a concept depicting what their life work is all about. Most importantly, he tries to capture the essence of energy, mannerisms, and spirit of their work.  His illustrations are simple portraits that he feels are easier to illustrate. Mark is currently getting into fine arts, which deals with how it feels instead of how it looks.

One guest speaker, Greg Durrell mentions to never give up trying to accomplish a bright future. He says “You Can Only Connect the Dots Looking Back”.  Another recovering, ethical Fashion Designer, Orsola De Castro, says “It isn’t enough just looking at quality in the products we buy. For example, we must ensure that there is quality in the lives of people who make them”. Then there is Jesse White, a community hero. Similarly, his philosophy is to give back to the community for all of the personal success he has had. Jesse’s hope is to save as many children as possible from a tough neighborhood and life. There have been 17,500 who have passed through his gymnastic program.

Bright future with CUSP Conference

These heroes want to make the globe a fairer, safer, more transparent place to live.

In conclusion, Mark Anderson, through his illustrations has captured the moment and spirit of their passion. Bringing all these brilliant people together for a great cause makes him our everyday hero.
