Yecson Preciado is a retired professional boxer for Ecuador, who has dedicated his life to teaching the sport to underprivileged children facing homelessness and poverty in his hometown Guayaquil, which is the most violent city in the small South American nation.

Yescon opened Trinibox in 2014, after local police mass-evicted an entire neighborhood, and he feared the homeless children would fall prey to street violence and drug use. He trains them to box so they have a shot at future that doesn’t involve becoming a gang member or ending up in jail.

He does not accept payment from his students, and works twelve hour shifts at the local port to support his family and the boxing gym. Yescon dreams that one of the boxers he trains will one day go on to fight in the Olympics.
