Laurynas Buzinskas is a successful mural artist in Chicago, Illinois, but he started out as a Lithuanian tagger who was discouraged from pursuing his passion by his family, friends, and educators.
It is only through sheer perseverance and the support of his wife, that he was able to create and run a thriving business that allows him to produce graffiti art for prominent corporate clients. “Never give up, or quit on your dreams,” is his advice to the Your Everyday Heroes’ viewers.
“When I was a kid, my parents didn’t support my passion, my love to create things. The same thing happened with my teacher and a couple of my friends,” he recalled. “Really, not a lot of people supported me.”
“I had been in trouble, the [police] wanted to send me to jail for a couple years… For the same thing I’m doing right now,” Laurynas explained. “I actually don’t know what I would do if I never started painting, but I still kept going and I’m still doing it to this day. So never ever quit on your dreams.”
